4noggins: SAMPLER - AROMATIC

Excellent selection of samples. Each one with its peculiarities has left me amazed and ready to consider them an everyday tobacco.

Good taste and aroma.

I came away with a favorite (Otter Creek with Covered bridges a close 2nd) and the other 3 not so much. I am going to try the British sampler next. Since I am a new pipe smoker this is a great way for me to find the tobaccos I enjoy. :)

First up, the 1oz sample pack is just the right amount to get plenty of bowls to sample at different times of the day to find the right fit. I love aromatics and enjoyed the chance to try a few I might not normally have chosen. Each has its own charm.
Could not get my nose out of Lord Methley's, it has an intoxicating aroma and found it quite pleasant. Covered Bridges was probably my favourite. It is a smooth, even burning smoke. Very easy to smoke all day. Catamount burns beautifully and is silky smooth but did not satisfy as much as Bridges. Otter Creek I enjoyed but had the occasional tongue bite. Thomas's Blend is a solid go-to everyday smoke. It is like an old reliable friend, smooth and uncomplicated with pleasant aroma.

I'd love to see sampler packs with other varieties. Trying out the sampler led me to look more closely at the reviews and to try other blends. Going to give Bald Headed Teacher and Owl's Head a go. Thanks Jeff for providing a great service.

Got the Aro-Sampler pack last week. Tried each one, a day apart... 1 bowl in a cob and 1 bowl in Comoy vintage pipe. They are all terrific with the Killingon standing out as number 1 for me. Excellent sampler that lets you know, you can do all your shopping at 4-Noggins.
