I had to try it Not overly impressed I think BCA is a better choice.
4 Noggins a great company to do business with.
Excellent.
exallent!
I received this tobacco as part of the 4-pack sampler from 4noggins. This is a dark Cavendish that is ribbon cut with medium moisture. Upon opening the bag the odor of what I presume to be casing comes thru as well as some unidentifiable sent of fruits and spices. The look is pure black Cavendish. It looks strong, like it will kick the fire out of you. It appears to be what is advertised so that rated a star.
The tobacco packs well, lights okay. Requires a re-light (don't they all?) and then the experience sets in. This is a mass-produced tobacco that sells for a premium based on the established brand recognition of the manufacturer. You expect this to be a value brand, not much more. Oh, get ready. I was immediately impressed with how smooth this tobacco smoked. Not really hot and very enjoyable, thus rating a star for meeting the advertisement of an old-time favorite; it demonstrates its value in the smoke. Furthermore, Billy Martin was right, there was no bite in the bowl, thus earning the third star.
The room note is advertised as being pleasant. It's fabulous if you ask me. Not too heavy, with hints of Vanilla I think and some fruity thing I can't put my finger on. Non-smokers would not be expected to find any objection to this mixture and you should plan on smoking it all day long, thus winning a star for being aromatic (as advertised) and one for being an all-day smoke you cannot put down.
Bottom line? Captain Black Dark is a definite keeper.
