bahiatrinpancho
Another terrific cigar in the Bahia lineup is the Trinidad. Yet another amazing cigar at a terrific price this one is sure to please!
The Trinidad is a Nicaraguan puro crafted with a dark and oily 2 year old Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper, optimally fermented and then lovingly packed in a bundle of 20 for your pleasure! Combined with this wrapper is a blend of 4-year-old Nicaraguan long-leaf tobaccos grown from Cuban seeds in Esteli and Condega. The end result is an aromatic, medium-bodied mix with mingling notes of cedar, cinnamon, and sweet tobacco flavors.
Comes quite dry, since it had been sitting without a humidor pack for months before it came in. After sitting in humidor for over three weeks, it provides a pretty standard draw. The construction is pretty tight, given that it can sit idle for at least two minutes without the need for relight, and the ash do kept it’s shape for close to an inch before dropping. However, the tight construction also means that you might have to work for the smoke. The first one I smoke seems to have a tight cap, that requires some loosening every now and then before the smoke comes through without much resistance. Mean while, the second one is just smooth sailing all the way through, with the third one having a bit of a plug at the cap when it was down to the last quarter of the cigar.
The flavour profile is really mild, to a point that I can taste almost no flavour in the top note and only part of the body. Despite the mild flavour though, the Nicaragua after taste can not be denied. Along with the nicaraguan flavour, a slight sweetness can also be taste in the smoke, with a bit of leather flavour both in the smoke and on the lip. The nicotine content is also relatively high for a mild flavoured cigar, meaning it is really made for relaxing and slow smoke, with the construction backing that up nicely.
