Obsidian Pipe Stem Oil isnt a wax or a cleaner, it is specifically designed as a preventative to help keep your vulcanite, ebonite, or Cumberland stems from oxidizing, and help keep them looking newer for longer. In addition to conditioning and sealing the pores of the vulcanite, thus resulting in much less oxidation, Obsidian also contains small amounts of organic quality UVA/UVB protection. Unlike Olive oil, which some people use (and which will go rancid), it has no taste and is specifically designed for use with the rubber your pipe stem is made from!

The product is a mix synthetic food grade oil, organic grade UVA/UVB inhiibitors, and some essential oils good for the skin on the lips!

This is the best there is for bringing stems back to life after cleaning.

Great product

It's results definitely depend on the condition of the stem (degree of oxidation), but it really works, better than everything else I've tried. Regular use will renew the dull stems. Very economical: one single drop caught by the tip of a needle is more than enough. The stem shines and it lasts!
