My biggest concern is getting my pipe tobacco on time, You certainly were on time.
Ça a pris deux semaines de la prise de la commande jusqu'à l'envoi à la poste.
I received this tobacco as part of a 4-pack sampler from 4noggins. This tobacco is advertised as a Cavendish mixture with Burleys and Virginias thrown in for good measure. Upon opening the bag I found an odor of what seemed to be casing and a hint of spice. The tobacco is not overly moist and appear to be shag cut bits and pieces. Didn't look promising - more like loose chewing tobacco. Bag appeal cost it a half star in ratings.
Packing was uneventful as it is not overly moist. Lighting up I found it to be smooth and rather non-descript in terms of flavor. It is a very mellow smoke to be sure, but flavor depth? Not there, so that cost it half a star for false advertising on that one. The experience is like you would expect from this manufacturer; a smoke that its supporters will say you go with all day. I have little doubt on that one. It tends to burn on the hot side and leaves a bit of dottle. Not the end of the world but no offset to the ratings penalties assessed, either.
Room note is average to low for an aromatic. Was not impressed with it as I had previously smoked the Captain Black Royal earlier and White lost big on that score. No comparison. The average non-smoker would find little to complain of, so it is okay, but the ad claims an intense aroma that wasn't there, thus a half star deduction was warranted.
In the end, not a bad tobacco at all - just a wee bit overhyped. If you like the other Captain Black products, you will like this one too.
