Kajun Kake as a Va/Per, can’t be compared to any other Virginia-Perique blend available. None that I know of anyway. It also, on the quiet, contains some amount of Black Cavendish apparently, which is ok by me. But does somewhat remove it from being an exclusive Va/Per. That being said, let’s imagine it is for all intents and purposes. This tobacco makes me think that I just bought it in 1885, somewhere in rural America from a traditional blender who is slowly making a name for himself as a legend.
Aged batches of this that I’ve received or kept myself are incomparable to anything on the modern market. It’s old, it’s traditional, it’s earthy, musty, sweet at times and strong enough for someone like myself, who’s nearly twenty years into the hobby, and could mainline Vit N. A decent sized bowl of KK will set you straight for hours before thinking, maybe I’ll pack another.
If it arrived fresh, as it tastes aged, I could smoke it nearly exclusively. If you’re a Va/Per aficionado and want to be surprised and would try something that a Native American would be impressed by, smoke some KK.
