This flake has a nice full body that engages the entire palate with thick, chewy smoke. It possesses a racy Virginia flavor, but it is not sharp, sassy, or overly piquant. The predominant impression is "sweet & grassy"; and the Perique is difficult to detect. The very bottom of the bowl starts to get ashy and tasteless, but then it's "lights-out", so that's not a big drawback. Think of this as a benchmark Va flake -- typical of the genre, and very smooth. Pricey, but worth it!
