This was the very first tobacco I ever smoked, and since I'm still piping I guess that is saying something. It's mild and has a great room smell. You could accuse it of being too light in taste, and perhaps made of lower quality stuff. The tin smell is absolutely amazing; I want to make tobacco cologne from it - sweet and dark. It doesn't have any sort of funk. The nicotine level is mild or medium. Parting thought: I never finished the tin. I just moved on to higher quality leaf.
For beginners: I graduated from this to various Virginias and Virginia-Perique blends, and that was a great progression that has me hooked now. They are mild like this blend, but offer more of everything you want in a tobacco - smell, room note, a good smelling beard afterwards, etc.
