...'cause this one'll train you in the ways of the spice. Truly, I've never smoked anything spicier than this blend, and it's got plenty of Vitamin N to boot. The va/bur tastes like the rounder here, so don't expect a full body... but don't expect a wimpy puff either! Definitely not an all-day smoke, but it'll give you the kick you need when the mood strikes. Has a kind of Nightcap quality to it. Recommended!

Received my bulk as a pressed brick that was rather dry and easy to separate. However, it's hard to leave as chunks for loading, especially into small bowled pipes, and when rubbed out you don't get what I consider a broken flake. Smoked dry and cool with a rich taste and enjoyabel aftertaste. I normally prefer true flakes and perhaps my packing technique resulted re lights, with gravity fill it's good.

Cornell & Diehl Night Train is a krumble kake. For the first few bowls I was disappointed. It's medium strength with a pronounced, upfront hit but a dulling, ashy taste in the background. I love Virginia/Perique, but Night Train also has Burley. The more coarsely rubbed, the more ashy the taste. More finely rubbed out, the Burley settles to a balanced satisfaction that both rests and relights well. Take the time to appreciate Night Train. It'll be time and money very well spent.
