I'm pretty new to pipe smoking after years of smoking those nasty cigarettes where the main goal was just to get nicotine in your lungs, so you'll have to excuse me and my lack of knowledge. But while I don't know much about this yet, I have now tried a number of different tobaccos from aromatics to straight-up, unflavoured Virginia flakes. I just got a sampler packet of Bread Loaf from the super nice people at 4noggins contained in my second order from them. And while I've only tried one bowl so far, I have to say I liked it a lot! Smells really nice in the bag and has a pleasant room smell as well. It lit very easily and produced a nice even ash and felt good in my mouth -- nice flavour (I know that's very subjective, I just don't have the vocabulary yet) and no tongue bite. Stayed lit, too, and I didn't make any attempt to let it dry out a bit first before stuffing my pipe with it. The only thing I noticed (and remember, this is from one bowl smoked by a novice) was that it seemed to burn fairly quickly. But it did burn right down and I was left with only a tiny amount of dottle. Hope this helps! I'd certainly consider ordering some.
