Until now, I never knew this unflavored Dunhill Black Cavendish ever existed despite being a piper for 50 years. I was scouring the internet for any Sutliff Galleria Midnight Smoke bulk, which I thoroughly enjoy above most others, that might be left considering Sutliff's current state of acquisition. I stumbled upon 4noggins web site and see 4noggins match of original Dunhill Bulk: A-30000 Black Cavendish. I knew Dunhill provided mild, smooth tobaccos so I took the plunge and also ordered Cornell & Diehl Green River Vanilla which I haven't ordered untill now (not exactly a fan of Cornell & Diel's products). The following is the outcome: Dunhill Black Cavendish is now my #1, soo smooth, no bite, pleasant taste and room note, very few relights. Tied for 2nd place nose to nose, Sutliff Galleria Midnight Smoke and Cornell & Diehl Green River Vanilla. After 3 bowls of the Dunhill and 3 bowls of the Cornell & Diehl, I was willingly hooked. My advise to any newbie or seasoned pipe smoker, if you like black cavendish or would like to try it, any of the 3 mentioned would serve you well.
No nicotine to speak of. Very good, sweet smell and flavour – you'll be tempted to eat it. Use as a mixer with something like a Gawith Hoggarth Twist or anything else that's strong and create a beautiful blend. On its own I wouldn't smoke it. As a mixer it's really great.
