Balkan blends are my go to, and this is in my top 5 all time favourites.
Many have commented on the Lakeland essence (the floral or ‘soapy’ notes) in this blend. I could taste/smell something...but I found it pleasant and very complimentary. I do not suspect it is a topping or casing -however light- but is likely a function of transference in storage, blending, or handling somewhere between leaf to tin.
In any case...
Balkans to my mind, are the extra chapters to the family of ‘English’ blends. Spicier, deeper, and more robust. And this Balkan delivers.
This is a creamy and voluminous smoke that is beautifully dry and cool. Infinitely flavourful, never disappointing, and having an addictive taste that makes this an easy all day blend for me.
