Gawith Hoggarth Bulk: BOB'S CHOCOLATE FLAKE

Received 250grams in excellent condition - very moist, very fresh and pungent with chocolate aroma. Decanted to a clean, airtight glass jar. Just the same as the tin. A real delight for slow sipping types dedicated to first class pipe tobaccos. I always try to buy in bulk.

After taking up the pipe again 5 years ago..third time..I have smoked many brands of tobacco and have been looking for that special kind, well I think I have found my Flake Eureka..BChK. What a terrific smoke. On opening there was a slight hint of chocolate which was not unpleasant to ones senses. It was smoked in a 3 star 9mm filter Briar which I have had for many years..second time of smoking the pipe..and what a pleasure. There was a subtle hint of aromatics, kinda scenty which wasn't too over powering, which came though separate with the chocolate coming through separate at various times, plus also a combined "taste" occasionally. A nice grey ash and smoked down to the last without the ash taste. A perfect 'first one in the morning and last one at night with one in the middle' smoke. A definite 5/5, if your taste buds are the same as mine..a must try. Can't wait to try it in one of my Meerschaums. Enjoy

Aroma and taste very gentle. Someone catches a cocoa smell, but Latakia I there feel so a little that she only slightly (I underline - very much slightly) adds chocolate taste and can't be noticed separately in any way though as I know from different sources, there it should be not less than 8 percent. Here, maybe, it also is that "gold" measure of addition of Latakia to tobacco where it and it should not be audible. Till now the standard of it for me was "Navy Flake" from Samuel Gawith. Now I was completely switched on "Bob's Chocolate Flake" and I will put it an excellent estimation.
