Peter Stokkebye: BALKAN SUPREME

OK, so it's not Balkan Sobranie of yore, but it's darn close! This might be the best Balkan blend available in bulk today. Worth a try if you've never smoked it before.

This blend is unmistakeably Balkan in the sense that the Oriental and Latakia combo in this blend makes the typical English latakia blend flavour taste much deeper. With the addition of Cavandish, the body of the smoke is much thicker and creamier than the typical English blend. The Cavandish this blend has does not seem to be sweetened as it does not make the blend taste noticeably sweet like English Oriental blend. This is something a rugged seasoned seaman would smoke.

Leaves at pretty thick taste in your mouth. A real different kind of odor, not sure if I like it. No bite, pretty mild and smoked almost the whole bowl with only a few lites. Another one that has to be smoked outside as the wife said it smelled like burning weeds. Must be an acquired taste kind of tobacco.

I have been smoking Balkans for a long time and this one really hit a key note with me. I was able to obtain a sample and was impressed enough to order a pound that I just received. After numerous bowls this is very consistant. The latakia does come thru very well but the blend really works together and doesnt seem to over power each other. I can say without hesitation this has become one of my top 3 Balkans and for the price it is number 1. This is truley a pleasure if you enjoy Balkans.

very straightforward blend. it's got what it says it has and not much else, no gloopy toppings nor hints of much aging and a moisture content that doesn't feel like you're being sold water weight. good buy.
